A wardrobe staple that’s in heavy rotation this season is a long vest. Cropping up everywhere from Alexander Wang’s monochrome sleeveless duster to Vera Wang’s unstructured, sequined drape, this trend can easily add a dash of class to any 9-5 outfit, whether or not you’re within the confines of a cubicle or home office. Beyond the confines of a 4 by 4, a few ways I like to wear fashion’s new-found glory at difference occasions are:
Meeting – channel the minimalistic look by topping over an LBD and pointy-toed heels
Date night – belt as a dress and amp up the steamy factor with ankle strap stilettos
Casual – black crop top, denim jeans rolled up at the cuff, and classic mules
In my outfit today I gravitated towards a more office-friendly getup – head to toe black with a hint of grey cashmere, rainbow metallics, and some criss-cross obsession. I’m an avid believer in integrating style and comfort at work – whether I’m delivering a presentation amongst my corporate peers or building a financial forecast behind my computer, I like to make sure when it comes to clothing neither quality nor aesthetics are compromised.
Thus these knee high boots, the last ingredient to this outfit, is ideal in retaining a long, statuesque appeal while adding ease to my commute.
What’s your take on the sleeveless vest trend this season?
